If you think about it, the stock settings are good to go... right out of the box. I recommend those. The enginers at Nokta want us to turn the thing on and its functions be easy to use and to opearate in its max performance. (otherwise it would suck and not sell) I hunt the beaches of San Diego almost daily and i use the stock "beach/sand wet" setting and its quiet and picks up the smallest of goods. point is, dont tweak, just go! later on when your more comfortable with the machine then mess with the settings
Start with the factory settings. I'd increase the IF settings until you see a noticeable drop in bottle caps but still get tabs. Recovery speed start at 5 and go up or down from there. Use 6 tones. have fun and don't find what you should not find. Things get bruied for a reason. CHOW!
