I get the appeal of beach metal detecting—it's such a relaxing yet thrilling hobby. I enjoy it throughout the year, especially near the water. I typically stick to the streams and shallower parts of the ocean rather than diving too deep. As for the detector, I use the Minelab Equinox, which offers great depth and sensitivity. If you're serious about improving your detecting game, you might want to explore neurofeedback where there's a focus on mental fitness and brain training. A sharp mind can certainly boost your skills when it comes to detecting and finding hidden treasures. In the end, enhancing your brainpower makes your time on the beach even more enjoyable.
I go metal detecting in the uk with my buddy all year round on the beach in all weathers , i suppose what we most enjoy is the peace and quiet when detecting and to get a break from the wives , but seriously its good for the mental health and the weekly work stress just falls away and hopefully we come up with the goodies . anyhow i would rather swing my ctx than swing a golf club .
I do. Easy digging, sand, sun, surf, and warm temps. At least that how it is along the Texas coast. Targets can be few and far in between. Unfortunately, I'm 6.5 hrs from the coast so I can only get down there maybe twice a year. I fish inshore saltwater also so sometimes the fishing gets priority. But not always.
I like the idea but I've never been good at it. Actually found Merrill's channel on YouTube while looking for beach hunting tip videos. I'm about 2 hours from the Gulf of Mexico so I don't get to go very often.
I definitely enjoy it. The forests near me freeze in weather like today (-28F this morning!) but the beaches are good year-round assuming I can tolerate the temperatures. I mainly stick to salt water beaches since they’re just more accessible.
I used my Equinox 800 for a few years, then got a Deus II when that came out and have used it since then. I just got a Manticore a few weeks ago and have only been able to get to the beach with it a handful of times, but so far I like it as much as my Nox at least. I’d say it’s currently a toss-up between my Manticore and my Deus II.

Love salt water detecting, I hunt the gulf shores area when I do, it's a beast the waves are rough but that's were the gold is , I have to give up the sea hunter , cause it pick UP everything, I like hunting with a sturdy machine that is hip mounted , Excalibur or cz21 looks good to me . HHHank.
