I have a Steve detector shaft and the counter weight on end that screw in to the end of shaft ,I use the detector in the salt water and over time ,I guess it got corroded so the counterweight will not unscrew from the end and the screw for the arm rest is corroded to it will not unscrew , i am trying to find ways to loosen the bolt and the counterweight end cap any help is appreciated , I tried putting a penetrative oil on the bolt no help

If that screw cap is stripped, It MAYBE just pressed onto a stud and can be pulled off. Look up faucet handle puller on youtube and it may come off this way so you could get to the stud and use a pair of locking vice prips to back it out.
