I seem to have more luck finding the best things in the winter. Yes I do understand more sand shifting and fluctuating. Also I rarely need to the question: Have you ever found anything ? For a while now I have been digging iron signals so I can tell what weight I'm dealing with in a certain area. This has been helpful. I generally practice Merrill's V shape style. If tide and sand are right I will traverse the V on my way back. Making a kind of X/W pattern. Yesterday while traversing I found several more coins , silver ring that must have been out there for a very long time. Small gold bracelet and 14k wedding band. What kept my interest in about two hundred yards of beach was sinkers and old rusted bolts . If I didn't backtrack I would not have had a couple great finds. Just wanted to share. Thanks

I’m generally grid my beach. There are known spots that have finds. However if the beach is sanded in I gravitate to lower parts and areas with black sand.
You have to figure out what works for you on the beaches you hunt. Some adjustments do not work on every beach and there will be some that you just can't figure out why they work!
CHOW!
