Hello Merrill and Friends, Im new to detecting and just purchased my 1st detector the Nokta Legend with 6 in Coil and the LG30 12 in Coil. Since purchasing it in July/Aug of this year I will admit Im off to a slow start in my detecting endeavors. I purchased the Legend just in case I lost interest or decided detecting wasnt for me but the small problem Im faced with now is I day dream of swinging and detecting and its really taken hold of me. I got kind of lucky my first real detecting session and found a Sterling Silver bracelet next to a picnic table at a park. Ive found some very old buttons since, an indian head penny and a very heavy bracelet I still need to test. Merril I really dont know how you pull all these mercury dimes and SLQ's but youve helped to inspire me watching your videos and I appreciate that! I live in CT and maybe I havent tapped into the right spots yet. The reason for my post is Im strongly considering an upgrade in detectors, maybe I just expect too much from the Legend but the inference is very bad and the target separation isnt great neither. Ive been eying the Minelab Manticore and Deus 2 and have read both theyre manuals. If you were me, which would you pull the trigger on? Ive also thought about waiting to see if any new models will come to market in the next 3-4 months as another option. I think the Legend is a good detector but one my major annoyances is that I will get a good target ID of high 40's to 50's but it wont give me discrimination as to whether the object is non ferrous or not. Thats actually how I dug up the silver bracelet, ID was like 52-54 but no other info. Do you think I can expect similar performance from the Manticore or Deus 2? It has other issues top such as emf interference in certain areas and it gets overly chatty with any black sand at the beach. If price was of no importance which one would you get? Or is there another model out there Im not aware of? Thanks....Q
