Okay so i have a great deal on a minelab equinox 800! They want $300 for it. This will be my first metal detector and I live at the beach. I've read from you that it's basically the standard at the beach which excites me a lot. However for a new user is this a good detector? I am pretty sure I will only use it at the beach year round. I've also read about the flooding issue with the detector. Someone on another channel suggested that I waterproof it with a silicone based waterproofing agent. These folks go s as far to say that it wouldn't void the manufacturer warranty either. They also suggested that I somehow transfer the warranty to myself when I buy it? Not exactly sure if any of that is true. Anyway on to the other questions that I have . Did the quality of a pin pointer really matter? Like can I get away with buying one for like $30-50? And also with the beach scoop who do you recommend I buy from to get one that Is a one stop shop. I don't mind spending on this item I suppose because of the salt water situation I'm going to. I blue it needs to be welded preferably and stainless steel to keep the rust from happening.... but anyway thank you so much for your YouTube channel and you have a lifetime subscriber!

Sir: Love that your kids are excited about, lets face it, spend quality time together, make memories that lat a lifetime and that will pass to their kids the fun they had with their Hero, and his name they call him DAD.
Watch as many videos on metal detecting as you can. Yu will learn alot and when something comes up with the Nox 800 of yours, You can figure it out.
Love to the family.
CHOW!
I agree, great price for the machine. The leaking issues are only a problem if the machine is completely submerged. And only the control box was sus to leaking. It's a great detector to start with, very user friendly, like Merrill says though, don't go just plugging in other people's settings, the factory settings work great and allow you to learn the machine. Listen to what it tells you and how the tones sound, you'll be digging sushi and taco bell in no time....
Nox 800 for 300 bucks? That is a deal I could not refuse!
You saved alot of money on the Nox 800, I'd go and get Merril's HoneyBager scoop! YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED! CHOW!
