I’m looking into both of these units and the majority of use would be seaside/island beach area with some venturing to county parks in Bergen/passaic/Sussex county in NJ. Which would better suit my needs? Looking into a couple of pre owned listings. Any help is GREATLY appreciated.

I actually have both of these detectors. In my personal opinion I would choose the Equinox over the Legend. The only drawback is some of the Equinoxes have leaked in the past when they were submerged which Minelab replaces under warranty if that happens. Not sure why some did if it was the users fault or the unit itself.
Hasn't happened to mine. I find it the Equinox is easier to use and the interface isn't easier to navigate. Good luck hunting out there!
